Build your roofline kit

Pick your house type, swap in your measurements, and see your price instantly. We cut, bulb, clip, and label every run to fit. How to measure

1Your roofline

Start from a house type (typical sizes, change them to yours):

Straight runs are gutters and flat edges. Peaks are the pointed parts: enter the width at the ground and we work out the sloped edges. See the measuring guide.

Three steps. One afternoon on the ladder.

The hard part of roofline lights isn't hanging them. It's measuring, cutting, bulbing, and figuring out what goes where. We do all of that.

  1. Homeowner measuring along the gutter line with a measuring wheel
    1

    Measure from the ground

Walk each gutter line with a tape or measuring wheel, or use the free measure tool in Google Maps. For peaks, measure the width at the ground and pick the steepness.

  2. Coiled C9 light runs with bulbs and clips attached, tagged and packed in a box
    2

    We build your kit

Every run is cut to length with commercial C9 LEDs installed and clips attached, then tagged for its spot: “A · Front gutter · 42 ft.” We check your numbers against satellite imagery before we cut.

  3. Warm white C9 LED bulb clipped to a gutter
    3

Clip it up and plug in

Follow the layout map, clip each labeled run into place, and plug in. Add a photocell timer and your house lights itself every night.

How to measure (10 minutes, no ladder)

You only need a tape measure or Google Maps. Break your roofline into straight runs and peaks, measure each one, and enter them in the kit builder.

A house with its roofline split into labeled sections: A front gutter, B garage gutter, C main peak, D garage peak. A B C D Peak C: measure this width at the ground
Split your roofline into straight runs (A, B) and peaks (C, D). Measure each one separately.
Straight runs

Tape or measuring wheel

  1. Stand on the ground under the gutter.
  2. Measure corner to corner along the house. The gutter sits right above you.
  3. Write each run down with a name, like “Front gutter 38 ft.”
No tape needed

Google Maps

  1. Find your house in satellite view on a computer.
  2. Right-click the corner of the roof and choose Measure distance.
  3. Click along the roof edge to the other corner and read the length.
Peaks

Width + steepness

Don't climb. Measure the width of the wall under the peak at the ground, then pick how steep the roof looks below. The kit builder calculates both sloped edges for you, including the roof overhang.

Questions

What if I measure wrong?

Every kit includes 5% extra length, and we compare your numbers to satellite imagery of your address before we cut. If something looks off, we contact you first. Measure each section separately and you'll be close enough.

How do I measure the peaks without a ladder?

Measure the width of the peak at the ground (the wall under it), then pick how steep the roof looks. The kit builder converts that into the length of both sloped edges.

What's in the box?

Your runs, cut to length with commercial C9 LED bulbs installed at 12" spacing and clips attached, each labeled by location. Plus a layout map, a fused lead to your outlet, and a timer if you add one.

How many feet can I plug into one outlet?

We keep each continuous circuit to 250 ft or less, per the wire manufacturer's limit. Bigger houses get split into circuits, and the kit builder tells you how many outlets you'll need.

When will it ship?

Kits are made to order and usually ship within 3–5 business days. Order by early December for the holidays.

Can I return it?

Custom-cut kits are made for one house, so they're final sale. If anything arrives damaged or defective, email us a photo and we'll replace it.

Can I reuse it next year?

Yes. Unclip each run, coil it, and store it in the box with its label. Next year it goes right back in the same spot.
